Aboriginal elders speak about what a festival like Deadly Days is all about and why it’s important to come together and celebrate their cultural identity.
A group of Murrbay elders from Kempsey who take a language class in Dhunghutti at TAFE had come to the Deadly Days festival in Wauchope.
They told ABC Open producer Wiriya Sati that it was a pretty deadly day for them, to come and see all the Aboriginal entertainers, but also because they see the importance of coming together and sharing their culture with the broader community and getting young people involved with programs that interest and educate them for a better future.
