NIYLA Leadership

The National Indigenous Youth Leadership Academy (NIYLA) connects Indigenous young leaders from communities across Australia as the next generation of change makers.

NIYLA is committed to igniting positive social change by strengthening Indigenous young people in leadership,celebrating collective and individual identity and building respectful relationships at all levels. Participants are engaged in the NIYLA program formally for one year, after which they become a member of the NIYLA alumni group.

 

Objectives:

To inspire and motivate Indigenous young people to be positive contributors to communities across Australia by:

  • Connecting a generation of young leaders nationally;
  • Developing a lasting network of young people based on mutual respect, individual and collective identity, through leadership and social action experiences;
  • Further developing the leadership capacity of Indigenous young people.
