Naa marni? (Greetings – in Kaurna language)
Today marks the start of National Reconciliation Week, as we stand beside the Indigenous community and reflect on the past, and look to a future defined by empathy and inclusiveness.
This year is particularly significant as the 10th anniversary of the University of Adelaide’s own Reconciliation Statement.
And while much has changed over the past decade, the University’s commitment to reconciliation has not.
This week we celebrate Indigenous culture on campus, and beyond, and highlight the many achievements and contributions of our outstanding Indigenous staff and students.
Nguya nguya want’adli! Mankurriapi-dli! Yitpi marnirningku!
(Let’s set aside this moral pustule between us! Let’s embrace each other (ie reconcile)! Let our spirits become good!)
