The Western Australian Department of Education and Training LOTE program have developed a number of resources which may be of use to you.
In particular the Framework for Teaching Aboriginal Languages in Primary Schools (1993), written by Joyce Hudson, is a very good resource. Developed as a generic resource for the teaching of all Aboriginal languages, the framework is designed to be used in primary schools with a significant proportion of aboriginal students from a variety of language backgrounds. It is based on the Australian Language Levels (ALL) Guidelines and contains six modules:
-
Learning to talk
-
Understanding a story
-
Extanding the language
-
Learning about languages
-
Learning through local themes
-
Learning about people and places
