PAW Media and Communications (formally known as Warlpiri Media Association)

PAW Media and Communications is a non-profit community organisation managed by an Aboriginal Board. PAW Media and Communications was the first Aboriginal TV broadcaster in Australia. Starting in 1983 as Warlpiri Media Association, PAW Media began operations in Yuendumu and now provides services to fourteen communities ranging from Kintore in the west through to Lajamanu in the north , Ali Curung and Pmara Jutunta to the east. PAW Media stands for the three language areas it represents, namely Pintubi, Anmatjere and Warlpiri.

PAW Media employs both kardiya (non-indigenous) and yapa (indigenous) staff who work together to create and broadcast local media. PAW Media also provides cultural services and advice to researchers, filmmakers and media coming to Yuendumu.

Highlights of our service delivery include:
* The PAW radio network which broadcasts up to eight hours per day to 14 indigenous communities in central Australia.
* Unique and ground breaking videos in language such as Aboriginal Rules, Bush Mechanics, Night Patrol, Mangarri Panu and Manyu Wana..
* Cultural archive available to local community members.
