A YOUNG man with a passion for education has taken out this year’s Grace Roberts Memorial Community Development Award.
Clark Webb co-ordinates a homework centre, Bularri Muurlay Nyanggan, at Wongala Estate and also co-ordinates a weekly Gumbaynggirr language workshop.
He is also involved with Coffs Harbour Aboriginal Social Events Aboriginal Corporation and is vice- chairperson of Galambila Health Service Inc.
In selecting him for the prestigious honour, it was noted Clark was a young community leader who was making a positive impact in the Aboriginal community.
He is a role model for Goori people but also for the broader community with his vision, sincerity and clarity on how he delivers programs and activities primarily to children and youth.
The Kulai Pre-School Aboriginal Corporation was named the Aboriginal Community Organisation of the Year, and Dianne Anthony was honoured as the Aboriginal Community Worker of the Year.
