Many indigenous groups are struggling to preserve their languages and cultures.
A language dies every other week on average and half of the about 7,000 languages currently spoken across the world are expected to disappear by the end of this century.
In Australia, only a handful of hundreds of indigenous languages have managed to survive following decades of European colonisation that heavily suppressed the native ways of life.
But many of the country’s indigenous groups are struggling to save their languages and preserve their cultures in the process.
Al Jazeera’s Rhodri Davies reports.
