What Body Parts Do You Know in Arrernte?

There are several Arandic languages in Central Australia . At Sadadeen Primary school in Alice Springs we learnt different words in Central Arrernte and Western Arrernte dialects about various body parts. When ABC Open producer, Charmaine Ingram, visited us, we decided to film each other on iPads and the Cannon 7D to produce this video.

Firstly, we were each assigned a body part that were written onto arrows that we made and decorated. Then we wrote down the Arrernte word on the other side.

Using the iPads were fun. At first we were shy to interview and film each other but after a bit of practice we were ready to use the 7D camera. We learnt about sound recording, how to use a tripod and how to frame and focus.

We hope you enjoy this video as much as we did making it.
